What order should the word families go in?
Most programs start with short a (-at, -an, -ap), then short i and o, then e and u, which is the order of the pages here. Within a vowel, pick the family your reader is on; each page pairs it with a second family of the same vowel.
How do these fit with the handwriting pages?
The word family pages use the same three-lined writing rows as the handwriting sheets, so writing the word is part of the exercise. Sight words, which cannot be sounded out, have their own pages under Handwriting.
Why no pictures on the phonics pages?
A picture lets a child name the object without reading. These pages work from letters only, and the missing vowel pages are built so only one vowel makes a real word in each set, so guessing does not work either.
Are there answer keys?
Every PDF ends with the page filled in green: words written out, sorted or matched.
