What the settings do
Each panel exposes the settings that change the sheet, and nothing that does not. Here is what each one changes.
Word search
- Grid
- 10, 12, 15 or 20 squares per side.
- Difficulty
- Easy keeps words across and down. Medium adds diagonals. Hard uses all eight directions and pulls in the theme's longer words.
- Letter case
- Capitals by default, lowercase for classes that have not met capitals yet.
- Coordinates
- Puts column letters and row numbers around the grid so a class can call out positions.
- Your own words
- Up to 30 words of three letters or more, under your own title.
Math facts
- Operation
- Addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, or a mix of all four.
- Number range
- 0 to 10, 0 to 20, 0 to 100, or a single times table from 2 to 12.
- Problems
- 12, 20 or 30 on a page.
- Layout
- Stacked in columns, written in a row, or packed into a compact grid.
- Missing number
- Turns 7 + 5 = 12 into 7 + __ = 12, which is where algebra starts.
- Regrouping
- Can be kept out of the set, so first graders never meet a carry they have not been taught.
Handwriting
- Content
- A single letter A to Z, or any name or word up to 24 characters.
- Line size
- Large for preschool and kindergarten, medium for first and second grade, small once writing is confident.
- Guidelines
- Three-line school ruling with a dashed midline. Letters begin as a full trace, fade to dotted, and the last lines are left empty.
Coloring
- Variant
- Mandalas, repeating patterns, or a bubble letter to color in.
- Pattern
- Circles, waves or triangles, redrawn from scratch each time.
- Detail
- Easy draws thicker lines and fewer regions. Hard thins the stroke and packs in roughly twice as many.
Sudoku
- Size
- 4 by 4 with four digits for young kids, 6 by 6 as the step up, or a full 9 by 9.
- Difficulty
- How many givens stay on the board. Easy leaves plenty, hard leaves you counting.
- Single solution
- Every board is solved by the generator before it ships, and rejected unless exactly one solution exists.
Paper and calendars
- Square size
- Graph paper from 1/8 inch to 1/2 inch, 5 mm and 1 cm, drawn to true size.
- Ruling
- Wide 8.7 mm, college 7.1 mm or narrow 6.35 mm, with the margin line where filler paper has it.
- Calendar
- Any month or year from 1900 to 2200, Sunday or Monday start, computed from real dates.
Charts
- Mode
- Hundreds and multiplication charts come filled, blank, or with gaps plus an answer key.
- Name
- Chore and reward charts print a child's name on the sheet if you type one.
- Layout
- Planner and habit tracker run landscape by default; portrait is one tap away.
Mazes
- Shape
- Classic rectangular grid, or a circular maze worked from the outside in.
- Difficulty
- Easy is a smaller grid that forgives wrong turns. Medium lengthens the corridors. Hard is carved for real backtracking.

- The route comes on its own page, so you can check twenty of them without solving twenty mazes.

The page on screen and the page in the PDF come from the same drawing, not from two renderers that drift apart. Nothing reflows between the browser and the printer.
Answer keys where they exist
Word searches, math sets, sudoku and mazes get their key on a following page. Handwriting and coloring have nothing to check, so the switch does not appear on those pages.

The grade pages cut across the generators rather than adding new ones. Kindergarten leans on large handwriting guidelines, name tracing, 4 by 4 sudoku and easy mazes. First and second grade bring fact fluency inside 10 and then 20, with the 6 by 6 board as the step up. From third grade the times tables and the full 9 by 9 sudoku take over, and by fifth grade the sets run thirty problems a page next to circular mazes and fine-line mandalas.
Handwriting keeps its own scale: large lines for preschool and kindergarten, medium through first and second grade, small once a child writes without the guides. Word searches follow the same idea through difficulty, since easy mode holds words to across and down while hard mode uses every diagonal.

FAQ
Is Printivu free?
Yes. Every generator, every PDF and every answer key is free, with no account and no download cap. The only mark left on a sheet is a small printivu.com line in the footer.
Do I need to install anything?
No. The sheets are drawn in the browser and the PDF is assembled when you press download, so a phone, a Chromebook and the classroom laptop all behave the same.
Can students work on screen instead of printing?
Yes. Word searches are solved by dragging across a word, sudoku has a keypad and a Check button, coloring pages have a brush and a fill tool with a full color picker, and the rest accept pen marks. All of it works with a finger on a tablet.
Can I make a word search with my own words?
Yes, on any theme page. Switch the panel to My own words, type or paste up to 30 words of three letters or more, give it a title like Week 12 Spelling, and download the PDF with its answer key.
How do I get a different sheet for each student?
Turn on 5 versions before downloading and the PDF holds five different puzzles at the same settings, each with its own key. For more than five, press New version and download again.
What paper size do the PDFs use?
US Letter by default, with A4 one tap away in the same panel. Both are drawn inside printer-safe margins, so no fit-to-page adjustment is needed at the print dialog.
