Printing help

Print a sheet for the bus, a waiting room or a quiet reading hour. A new solver should expect about fifteen to twenty minutes. Work in pencil and fill in the sure cells first, then loop back through the grid. If the page stalls, check each box for a number that has only one place left. Open the answer key only after a real attempt, and check one row at a time. Adults often print a few and keep them in a bag.

Easy 9×9 teaches the core technique: for each number, look at which rows and columns already hold it and see where it can still go in a box. Beginners stumble by working only on one number or one corner. A good habit is to sweep through the numbers 1 to 9 in turn. This follows the 6×6 sheets and leads to Medium, where pencil notes begin to matter.

Stay on Easy until three or four puzzles in a row finish without a guess. If you want a challenge, try the Medium setting once and see whether you need to write small candidate numbers. Use New version for a fresh grid after solving. For a classroom, the 5 versions option gives different puzzles to neighbouring desks.

How long does an easy sudoku take?
A first-timer usually needs fifteen to twenty minutes. With practice that falls to under ten. Time is not the goal early on, so concentrate on finishing without guessing.
Do I ever need to guess on an easy puzzle?
No. Every puzzle has exactly one solution, and on Easy you can reach it by checking rows, columns and boxes. If you feel forced to guess, look again for a box or row that is missing only one number.
Can children do the 9×9 version?
Confident readers of around nine or ten often can, especially after the 4×4 and 6×6 sheets. Younger children are usually happier on the smaller grids, where the whole page fits in view.
