Easy has 10 three-letter words, so a kindergartener can point to the real body part while hunting for the word. Medium and Hard run longer. After solving, have children touch or label each part on a drawing of a person. If your unit is narrower, say the skeleton or digestion, type up to 30 of your own words instead.

The early list is mostly three-letter body words, a good fit for beginning readers who are matching letters to things they can see on themselves. Medium brings four-letter words like KNEE, NECK and SKIN. Hard adds organs and joints such as BLADDER, ELBOW, MUSCLE and THROAT, which are harder to spell and often new. Children usually stumble on silent or tricky letters, like the K in KNEE or the G-U in TONGUE, so spelling the word aloud after finding it helps it stick.

Ages 5 to 6 do best on Easy, where each short word names something they can touch while they search. Once diagonals stop feeling strange, Medium gives seven and eight year olds a bigger page to scan. Hard is a better fit from grade 4, especially the night before a quiz on organs. Keep the answer key for the one word a child cannot spot, rather than handing it over first.

Are the organ words too advanced for second grade?

Only the Hard level includes organs like KIDNEY and BLADDER. Easy and Medium stay with outside body parts such as HAND, CHIN and NAIL, which second graders usually know. Pick the level by the words, not the grade label.
