FAQ
How do the hint settings work?
Word bank prints all the answers in alphabetical order under the puzzle; first letter also writes the first letter of each answer on the line; no hints removes the bank for older students. The scramble itself never matches the real word, even for short ones.
Can I scramble my own word list?
Yes. Type or paste your words into Your own words in the panel (a spelling list pasted with commas or one per line works) and they replace the theme words; clear the list to switch back. Three to thirty words, up to 14 letters each.
Can I get different versions for each student?
Turn on the 5 versions switch before downloading. You get five different sheets in one PDF, each with its own answer key, so neighbouring desks cannot copy.
What is on the answer key?
The same numbered list with every word unscrambled in green. The word bank on the puzzle page is alphabetical, so it does not give away the order.
Can this be played on a tablet?
Practice online puts a pen tool over the same sheet, so words can be written or squares marked with a finger and wiped for the next game.
