Weather Word Search

Pair this with a weather chart in class. Students find words, then sort them into things that fall from the sky, things you feel and seasons. Ten minutes works for Easy and longer for Hard. At home, a child can find the word that matches today's forecast and circle it in a bright color. The words describe conditions (DRY, WET, DAMP, MILD), precipitation and wind (HAIL, SNOW, GALE, GUST) and seasons (WINTER, SUMMER, SPRING, AUTUMN). Children practice science vocabulary and spelling together. Words that look alike, such as COOL and COLD or WARM and WIND, are common slip-ups.
