Skip Counting Worksheets, by 2s to 10s

Every row uses a different step, from 2 to 10, and the student has to work out which from the numbers given before filling the gaps. Counting by threes and fours is the bridge to the times tables, which is why they are mixed in here with the familiar twos, fives and tens. The hard setting swaps in steps of 6, 7, 8 and 9.

FAQ

How does a student know the step?

From the first two boxes, which are always filled. Working out the step before filling the gaps is the point of mixing steps on one page.

Do the downloads include answer keys?

Yes, every PDF ends with a key page that repeats the layout with the answers in green. Turn the Answer key switch off for a problems-only file.

Can I get different versions for each student?

Turn on the 5 versions switch before downloading. You get five different sheets in one PDF, each with its own answer key, so neighbouring desks cannot copy.

Is this the same as times tables?

It is the sequence side of them: counting by fours gives the four times table in order. The times table pages linked below drill the same facts as multiplication problems.

Can kids do these on a tablet?

Yes. Practice online puts a pen tool over the same sheet, so answers (or clock hands) can be drawn with a finger or stylus and wiped for another try.

How do I print this skip counting worksheet?

Click Download PDF and print at 100% scale. The page is already sized for US Letter with printer-safe margins, so no fit-to-page fiddling is needed.
