Easy 6×6 Sudoku Printables

Print one sheet per child and set a quiet ten to fifteen minutes. Remind newcomers that the boxes here are wider than they are tall, which trips up almost everyone once. Solving in pencil keeps it relaxed. Use the answer key for self-checking: have the solver circle one wrong cell rather than rubbing out the whole row. Adults can use these as a warm-up before the 9×9 puzzles. For a group, print the 5 versions and hand out different ones so neighbours cannot copy.

How are 6×6 boxes shaped?

Each box is two rows tall and three columns wide, with six boxes in the grid. Each one must hold 1 to 6 once, same as every row and column. Outline them with a pencil if a solver keeps missing them.

Is Easy 6×6 too hard after the 4×4 grid?

Most children who solve 4×4 Hard cope fine, though two extra numbers and the wider boxes slow them down at first. Expect the first puzzle to take longer, and sit nearby for it.

Should an adult beginner start here or at 9×9?

Start here. Six numbers are easier to hold in your head, and the habits of scanning rows, columns and boxes carry straight over. Two or three solved grids usually make Easy 9×9 comfortable.
