Break the set into short sessions of four or five rows. Spend extra time on the teens, since that is where number words and digits stop matching. Read each number aloud, tracing the first digit and then the second. Teachers can split the pack across the week at a math center, and parents can pair it with counting objects. Check the finished page for reversed digits such as 12 or 21, and ask the child to read it back.

The challenge here is place value in handwriting: a two-digit number needs two digits in the right order with a small gap. Children say thirteen as three-teen, so they reverse the digits. Large lines are the default and give room for two digits side by side. Medium is good once the digits are steady, and Small tends to crowd the pairs. If a child mixes up the teens, do only the teens for a few days. You can switch to Medium later, when both digits keep the same height.
