Fish Color by Number
A fish hidden in a 12 by 12 grid. Each square carries a number, the legend at the top matches numbers to colors, and the picture shows up as the squares fill in. The numbers reshuffle on every click, so two kids with the same page still have to read their own legend.
Color by the number in each square.

FAQ
How does color by number work?
Every square has a number, and the legend at the top says which color each number is. Color all the squares with the same number the same color and a picture appears. The answer key page shows the finished picture.
Can I make it a math worksheet?
Yes. Change Mode to Addition, Subtraction or Multiplication and each square shows a problem instead of a number; the legend then reads, for example, 7 = red. The fish stays the same, the work changes.
Can this be colored on a tablet?
Yes. Color online gives a tap-to-fill palette and brush over the same grid, and the finished picture saves as an image.
How do I print this color by number page?
Click Download PDF and print at 100% scale. The page is already sized for US Letter with printer-safe margins, so no fit-to-page fiddling is needed.
Why squares instead of outlined shapes?
A square grid is the pixel style: 144 squares, each large enough for a crayon, with the picture hidden until it is colored. It also means the same page works as a math worksheet, because every square can hold a problem.
What is on the answer key page?
The finished picture, colored in. Print it as a reference for younger kids, or keep it hidden so the reveal is the reward.
Can I get different versions for each student?
Turn on the 5 versions switch before downloading. You get five different sheets in one PDF, each with its own answer key, so neighbouring desks cannot copy.
