3-Digit Addition Worksheets
A 3-digit addition generator for second and third grade. Every problem has two 3-digit numbers (386 + 547 is the kind of thing you will see), laid out vertically with room to work. The carrying control decides whether regrouping shows up in a mix of problems, never, or in every problem, which is how most teachers step students through it.

What does the carrying control do?
None keeps every column sum under 10, so nothing carries. Every problem guarantees carrying in each one. Mixed lets the generator draw freely, which is how a test page looks.
Is there room to show the work?
Yes. Multi-digit pages use three or four columns instead of the five or six on fact pages, so each problem has empty space underneath for carrying marks, partial products or the long division steps.
Do the downloads include answer keys?
Yes, every PDF ends with a key page that repeats the layout with the answers in green. Flip the Answer key switch off if you only want the problems.
How do I print this addition worksheet?

Are both numbers always 3 digits?
Yes, both operands are full 3-digit numbers. For mixed lengths, drop to the 2-digit page or use the grade pages, which draw from a number range instead.
How many problems per page?
Twelve, twenty or thirty. Twelve prints large with the most work space and suits the first days of carrying; thirty is a fluency check for students who already have the method.
Can I get different versions for each student?
Turn on the 5 versions switch before downloading. You get five different sheets in one PDF, each with its own answer key, so neighbouring desks cannot copy.
