Hundreds Chart with Missing Numbers

A hundreds chart with roughly 35 of the 100 cells hidden. Students use the numbers around each gap to work out what is missing, which turns a reference chart into a number-sense exercise. Every click on New version hides a different set of cells, and the PDF ends with an answer key page showing the hidden numbers in green.

FAQ

How many numbers are missing?

About a third of the cells, chosen at random each time you regenerate. The count varies slightly from sheet to sheet, so no two printouts have the same gaps.

What strategies should students use?

Look up one row for the number that is 10 less, down for 10 more, and left or right for one less or one more. Filling a row from its shaded tens cell backwards is a good check for stuck learners.

Can students do it on screen?

Yes, with Write online: a pen tool over the chart for writing the missing numbers on a tablet, and a clear button to try a fresh set.

Does it come with answers?

Yes. The last page of the PDF is the same chart with the hidden numbers filled in green, so checking is a side-by-side glance. Turn the Answer key switch off if you only want the worksheet.

Can I get five different sheets for a class?

Press New version and download each time; each sheet hides different numbers. The answer key travels with each PDF, so keep them paired.

How do I print this worksheet?

Click Download PDF and print at 100% scale. The page is already sized for US Letter with printer-safe margins, so no fit-to-page fiddling is needed.
