Large grid, long corridors, costly wrong turns.
About this page
Printing helpPrint one at full size and give it ten minutes or more. Work from the center outward, but glance at the outer edge now and then, since finding the exit gap lets you plan from both directions. A sharp pencil is useful because the corridors are narrow. These work well for early finishers, long car journeys or a quiet corner at a party. The answer key shows the route if you want to check a stubborn section.
This is the most demanding maze type on the site, and it stresses systematic search more than speed. The solver tracks dozens of small branches across several rings, and learns to cross out dead ends. The usual mistake is circling the same ring twice. Before it come Medium circular mazes, and after it, nothing harder here, so it is a sensible final step. Patience is the main skill it rewards.
Stay on Circular and set Difficulty to Hard only once Medium rings feel routine. Mark dead ends with a small stroke, and take a break if you start retracing the same route. Press New version for a different maze when a page is too smudged, and use the 5 versions option to prepare a handful for a puzzle night.
- How do I solve a hard circular maze faster?
- Find the opening on the outer ring and work backwards from there as well as outwards from the middle. Crossing out dead ends as you find them stops you re-entering the same branch.
- Is there only one route through?
- Yes, a single route links the center to the exit, and the answer key shows it. If you find two ways through, one of them has crossed a wall by accident.
- What age suits hard circular mazes?
- Around ten and up, and adults enjoy them too. Younger children may tire before the end. Easy or Medium circular mazes give them the same ring-following practice at a gentler pace.
